Author’s Note
In retrospect, I considered taking this article down; I wrote this in a very emotional and
desperate mindset. Which is about as wise as reasoning while drunk. Although I knew
that Israel would respond with extreme violence, I felt as though if I yelled loudly
enough (or wrote hastily enough) that I might be able to convince people to not beat the
war drums. I know that doesn’t make sense because no one reads this crap, but feelings
don’t always listen to reason—Blaise Pascal once said, “The heart has its reasons of
which reason knows nothing.” So, whilst not my proudest work, I decided to leave it
online because I have hang-ups about using the delete button to curate my corpus. To
document and notice improvement, it requires a record of the imperfect past. I hope that
in a few years I’ll have come so far I’ll able to cringe at all the stuff I’m writing now.
